How it works
Is it a robot?
It's a digital assistant, and it says so straight away.
Callers hear: "I'm the digital assistant that gets you through to Dave, or makes sure he gets back to you." We're not pretending it's a person. It isn't there instead of you picking up. It's there instead of the phone ringing out.
Aren't you just another answering service?
Same kind of technology under the bonnet, but we only do trades.
We won't pretend otherwise. The difference is that it sorts the call first, rings you while it takes the details, and writes the job up the same way every time. Support's on WhatsApp, not a helpdesk.
How do I know it's got the details right?
It takes the same four things, every time.
Name, where they are, what the job is and a number to reach them on. If anything's unclear, it reads it back to check. If the call drops before it's got everything, it rings them back.
How do I know it's working?
Ring the line yourself, any time.
You'll hear exactly what your customers hear. Every week you get a report by email with every call logged: who rang, what they wanted and what happened, including the calls that weren't work and why. There's nothing to log into.
Will it price jobs for me?
Never.
If you want it to mention your call-out charge, it says the figure you've given us and nothing else.
Google sends me the enquiry anyway.
Google rings your phone. That's all.
It doesn't hand you a job. And Google counts missed calls against you, and has announced that from this autumn it will charge for some of the ones you miss.

Will this put my Google bill up?
It can, and we won't pretend otherwise.
Google charges for calls that get answered, and we answer every one. But from this autumn, if someone rings your Google ad in your opening hours and waits more than 20 seconds, Google charges you whether you answer or not. You're paying for those calls either way. The question is whether they turn into work.
Calls we answer outside your opening hours are charged by Google too, the same as if you'd picked up yourself. So are the jobs that come from them.
Paying and getting started
What's the catch with the offer?
Three months for the price of two, on Capture and Cover.
Card at sign-up; you pay for months one and two, and the third's free. After that it rolls monthly. Cancel at least two weeks before your payment date and that's your last month. There's a short agreement to sign because we handle your customers' details for you. That's the only paperwork.
How quickly can I be up and running?
Live within 7 days of sign-up.
That's once you've paid and given us access to your Google Local ads account. The quicker you get us those, the quicker you're live.
Who isn't it for?
It's built for trades on Google Local ads that are a UK limited company.
It's not for you if:
- you're not on Google Local ads (we can still cover your main line by arrangement: talk to us)
- you're not a limited company (we may still take you on after a quick check: talk to us first)
- you're looking for someone to price your jobs
Your customers and your number
What happens to my customers' details?
We hold them for you, and we never pass them to another trade.
We hold them on your behalf under UK GDPR, and we're registered with the ICO. Call recordings are deleted after 30 days.
What happens to my number if I leave?
Your own number stays yours. A number we gave you stays ours.
If you pointed your own number at us, switch it back whenever you like. If we gave you a new number, on request we'll keep forwarding it to you for a monthly fee, or you can buy it and take it with you for a one-off fee. Both are in our terms.
Give your next caller the best chance of becoming a job.
